BYD Shark 6 Recall: 32,009 Utes Over Spare Wheel Fault

Australia's best selling plug-in ute has just been hit with one of the year's biggest recalls. BYD is calling back 32,009 examples of the Shark 6 because the spare wheel can come loose and, in the worst case, fall off while you are driving.

The recall covers all three Shark 6 variants sold in Australia, built between 29 August 2024 and 15 June 2026.

The bulk are Premium models, with 28,543 affected. The newer Performance variant accounts for 2100 vehicles, and the fleet focused Dynamic Cab Chassis adds another 1366.
