Mitsubishi ASX Cut $5000 EOFY, Outlander, Triton Deals

Mitsubishi has hit the panic button on its slowest-selling model and rolled out a stack of end of financial year offers across its core range, with the European-built ASX leading the discount charge. Sales of the ASX are down a staggering 88.6 per cent year-to-date, and the brand as a whole is off 25.5 per cent on last year, so this is not a generous gesture. It is a clearance.

The practical question for buyers is whether these deals actually beat what you can already negotiate at the dealership on your own, and whether the cars themselves are worth chasing now that fresher hybrid rivals like the Kia Seltos hybrid, Hyundai Kona hybrid and Toyota Yaris Cross are taking the segment by the scruff. The short answer: some of these offers are genuinely strong, some are window dressing. Here is the breakdown from a buyer's perspective.

ASX entry grade dropped to $34,990 drive-away

The headline deal is on the 2026 Mitsubishi ASX LS, the entry grade, which is now $34,990 drive-away. That is a $5000 cut on the previous drive-away offer of $39,990, and it sits below the $37,740 list price before on-road costs. Add stamp duty, registration, and dealer delivery and that LS would normally land you well into the high $30,000s. At $34,990 driven away, it is finally competitive.

The offer is valid until 31 May 2026 unless extended. Given how badly the ASX is selling, expect it to extend.

A word of caution though. The ASX is a rebadged Renault Captur built in Spain, not the Japanese-engineered model many buyers still think they are getting. The 1.0-litre turbo three-cylinder petrol engine is fine for around town but it is not class-leading, and there is no hybrid option locally. If your shortlist includes the Kona, Yaris Cross hybrid or Mazda CX-3, the ASX needs that $5000 cut just to keep up.

Aspire and Exceed pricing has gone quiet

Mitsubishi's website no longer shows drive-away pricing for the ASX Aspire ($42,690 list) or Exceed ($46,490 list). Instead, buyers are pushed to contact a dealer. This is classic dealer-leverage behaviour: pull the published price, force the customer to walk in, then let the dealer pocket whatever margin the customer does not negotiate away.

If you want one of the higher grades, do not accept the first offer. The brand is clearly discounting somewhere on these cars, otherwise pricing would still be on the site. Push hard for at least a comparable drive-away discount to the LS.

Outlander run-out: $2000 fuel card on MY25

The better deal for most buyers is on the Mitsubishi Outlander. Remaining MY25 stock, excluding the five-seat ES in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, attracts a $2000 fuel card at point of sale. Importantly, Mitsubishi explicitly notes the fuel card value can be substituted for a straight discount off the drive-away price, which is how you should take it. Cash off price is always worth more than a card you have to drag yourself to a particular servo to use.

Note the ES seven-seat front-wheel drive is flagged as low stock. If you have been on a wait list for an Outlander, this is the time to follow up with your dealer rather than wait for MY26 inventory to land.

Triton run-out: $2000 fuel card on specific MY25 grades

The Triton gets the same $2000 fuel card treatment, but only on certain MY25 dual-cab pick-up 4x4 automatic grades: GLX-R, GLX-R Special Edition, GLS, GSR and GSR Special Edition. Again, ask for the cash equivalent off the drive-away price.

If you have been comparing the Triton to a Ford Ranger or Toyota HiLux, the Triton's strongest pitch is value. With $2000 effectively off, it widens that gap meaningfully against a $5000-pricier Ranger XLT or HiLux SR5.

Three years free servicing on MY26 Outlander and Triton

MY26 Outlander buyers, excluding the ES grades, and MY26 Triton dual-cab pick-up 4x4 automatic buyers, excluding GLX and Raider, get three years or 45,000 kilometres of complimentary dealer servicing. The capped-price services normally cost $1077 on the Outlander and $1467 on the Triton across that three-year window.

This is a useful but not dramatic saving. Roughly $360 a year on the Outlander or $490 a year on the Triton. The bigger value is the certainty. You walk out of the dealership knowing what your ongoing costs look like, which matters for novated lease and fleet buyers running ownership calculators.

Triton drive-away pricing locked in until 30 June 2026

Mitsubishi has also published clean drive-away numbers for the MY26 Triton dual-cab pick-up 4x4 line-up, valid until 30 June 2026:

- Triton GLX: $46,990 drive-away ($51,640 RRP) - Triton GLX+: $49,490 drive-away ($53,990 RRP) - Triton GLX-R: $52,990 drive-away ($57,440 RRP) - Triton GLS: $57,490 drive-away ($60,140 RRP) - Triton GSR: $63,490 drive-away ($65,590 RRP)

The GLX at $46,990 drive-away is the standout, undercutting a base Ford Ranger XL 4x4 by several thousand and matching the value pitch of the GWM Cannon and BYD Shark 6 entry grades. The GSR at $63,490 is still expensive against a Ranger Sport, but the inclusion of free servicing tilts the lifetime numbers.

Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross PHEV run-out cash bonus

There is a $10,000 cash bonus on MY24 Outlander PHEV Exceed and Exceed Tourer stock, plus drive-away deals on the Eclipse Cross PHEV, which is also in run-out. If you want a plug-in hybrid SUV with a real, usable electric range and the brand is happy to throw $10,000 at clearing stock, this is the cleanest deal in the line-up.

The catch is supply. Once these MY24 cars are gone, they are gone. The Eclipse Cross is being replaced and the next Outlander PHEV is already on the way. If your priority is the lowest possible purchase price on a capable PHEV family SUV, walk into a Mitsubishi dealer this week and ask what MY24 PHEV stock is on the lot.

Pajero Sport almost gone, no replacement until 2027

The Pajero Sport ended production for Australia early in 2025. Remaining stock is now limited to GLS and Exceed grades. The replacement Pajero, due in the coming months, is Triton-based like the Pajero Sport was, so the formula is broadly the same, just newer. The new Pajero will not be cheap at launch. If you want a Pajero Sport at run-out money, the time to act is now.

What this run-out actually says about Mitsubishi

A brand only cuts $5000 off a single grade and pulls pricing on the rest when it has a problem. Mitsubishi has a problem. The ASX is European and not hybrid. The Eclipse Cross is being phased out. The Pajero Sport is dead. The next-generation hybrid ASX is not coming until 2028. That is a difficult holding pattern.

The good news for buyers is that this kind of stress in a brand's range almost always shows up as money off in the showroom. Use it. Push the dealer hard, especially on the higher Aspire and Exceed ASX grades where Mitsubishi has gone quiet on public pricing. And before signing anything, cross-check the offer against a comparable Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Tucson or Kia Sportage drive-away figure, because the gap between Mitsubishi and the segment leaders has narrowed only because Mitsubishi is paying you to close it.

The bottom line

The ASX LS at $34,990 is the cleanest offer in the line-up. The Outlander and Triton MY25 fuel cards are worth taking as a cash discount, not a card. The MY24 PHEV cash bonus is the most aggressive deal Mitsubishi has on the floor right now. And if you are in the market for the higher ASX grades, walk in knowing the dealer has room to move because the public price disappeared from the website for a reason.
